‘Tis the season, don’t be a dick.

Posted on November 22, 2015 by chrystal

It’s that time of the year again. Thanksgiving is next week, Christmas just around the corner.

A lot of people use this month to talk about what they are thankful for, which can clog up my feed, but it’s also refreshing. At the same time I think about how we should always be thankful. You’re alive? You have a roof over your head, food and water? Love? Be thankful. Count your blessings every single day.

I know I have some bad days, there is a lot going on in my life that causes a lot of stress. Some things are harder to let go, and I feel bad for the person who hears most of the thoughts in my head. But he listens, and I trust him with my most personal thoughts and feelings. So I’m thankful. I’m thankful to hear that voice at the end of the day.

I have two beautiful, smart, healthy children. They are creative, funny, honest, and my favorite gift. They can drive me to the point of madness, especially being their primary care taker, cook, maid, chauffeur, etc. But I would never trade my life in. They keep me grounded. They want nothing more than to be snuggled up with me, and tell me about their days. They are always quick to make me laugh and give me more pride than I ever thought I could have.

I have a great job. I work with crazy people, but it’s a fun kind of crazy. I feel secure, and it keeps me going. I’m able to provide for my children and that’s what matters the most to me. But I’m thankful for that place. And for other reasons that I’m not willing to discuss right now.

I’m thankful that I’m getting closer to the life I want. I feel stronger, and more independent by the day. I feel loved every single day by the people that matter to me the most. I have wonderful friends that I hope to have in my life forever. Things are becoming more beautiful by the day and I can only hope all this love and happiness I have continues to grow. I’m thankful for the amazing person that stands by my side and tells me I’m beautiful when I feel like I’m not. I’m happier than I’ve ever been and he’s to blame for it.

Life is beautiful. Be thankful for every single day.
