I have a weekly check-in with women writers. Each week we get a new prompt, a word, a sentence or several words. I’ll share them occasionally.
Prompt from 6/27: Gallon, Queen, Wasteland, Regret, Jealous
I should have been watching Queen perform tonight. I could be watching Brian May hypnotize the audience with the strum of his guitar. My friend Joe even snuck a gallon of vodka for us to share in the van before the show.
But now we’re sitting on the side of the road listening to that song Teenage Wasteland while our tire is being repaired. Or is it Baba O’Reiley? Who knows? Well, maybe The Who knows. I’m full of regret for not checking the tires while we stopped for gas. I’m jealous of everyone at the arena watching Freddie dazzle on stage. Instead I’m eating stale chips from the gas station. These nasty chips that took priority over checking the air in the tires.
